Overview:
Candidate must have mechanical background and be able to troubleshoot mechanical gearing, brakes, couplings, clutches, bearings, seals, wire rope, hoists, steel fabrication, machining and other devices on overhead cranes and jibs.
In this role the selected candidate will:
Furthermore the candidate must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet above the ground. Shaft to shaft alignment and pneumatics/hydraulics experience desired. Strict adherence to procedures is mandatory. Candidate must be able to work overtime.
Note: A lengthy period will be spent on training/evaluation. The foreman and engineering will determine and certify the candidate for independent work on our cranes. Must be able to complete and maintain J Worker qualification. Qualifications:
In the role as a maintenance machinist the candidate will be required to repair and maintain overhead cranes and jibs.
Candidate must have mechanical background and be able to troubleshoot mechanical gearing, brakes, couplings, clutches, bearings, seals, wire rope, hoists, steel fabrication, machining and other devices on overhead cranes and jibs.
In this role the selected candidate will:
- possess a working knowledge of gear boxes, shafts, gears, couplings, load brakes (internal and external), shoe brakes, drives and fits.
- be proficient in the use of precision instruments for measurement and alignments
- be able to read blueprints and when necessary discuss problems with original equipment manufacturer's representatives and D507 Engineering
- be able to discuss and understand the various operating features of crane related mechanical equipment in order to provide proper maintenance, troubleshooting and repair servicing
- follow department technical procedures and OEM technical manual procedures
- maintain J Worker qualification

- High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred:
2 years experience in the mechanical maintenance and repair field and have completed specialized schooling in the maintenance and mechanical repairs of equipment beyond high school.
