Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the facility to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for students, staff and visitors. This position will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs at the assigned location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform duties associated with building maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic assigned day-to-day repairs and emergency maintenance.

2. Perform duties associated with assigned day-to-day repairs and emergency maintenance.

3. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems..

4. Work independently or as a team member.

5. Conduct minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment.

6. Perform preventative maintenance procedures on buildings and equipment.

7. Respond to emergencies during scheduled work hours as needed.

Qualifications:

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

· Must be able to read and communicate in English for safety and security reasons.

· Must be able to operate basic custodial and maintenance equipment or demonstrate an ability to learn how to operate.

· Must be capable of working in outside conditions during inclement weather.

· Must have a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.

· Must be a legal resident of the United States.

· Must have reliable transportation to and from the job assignment.

· Previous maintenance experience preferred, but not required

· Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of 8th grade

· Must be able to satisfactorily perform all of the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time

2. Must be able to lift fifty- (50) pounds.

3. Must be able to stoop, walk, climb stairs and ladder, crouch, kneel, pull, push, reach, perform repetitive hand motions, have hearing, speech and visual acuity, and be able to distinguish colors.
