WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
This is an amazing opportunity to influence and be a part of the Bay City Plant startup team at our new state-of-the-art MMA production facility!
At the direction of the Technical Manager, provide Maintenance scheduling, parts and inventory supply management, and work order support for Röhm Bay City Maintenance requirements, Operations, Safety, and Engineering departments. Compile information enabling the planning and scheduling of all routine and shutdown work with Röhm Bay City LiMA Operations. Improve the efficiency of plant maintenance and construction through the pre-determination of manpower, material, time, tools, and equipment.
Manage the activities of all site maintenance partners including onsite tenants (OQ, Celanese, etc.) and the full complement of outside maintenance resources / contractors for all trades. The position is responsible for ensuring maintenance services meet all Röhm company goals and customer expectations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work closely with the Technical Manager to design and execute the organization’s annual maintenance plan.

Assist Technical Manager with developing a comprehensive maintenance budget and coordinate payment for services and equipment with Roehm Accounts Payable.

Facility implementation of SAP for maintenance and inventory management using material master numbers.

Implement “best practices” Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) using new technology initiatives.

Understand and manage Backlogs (Ready to Schedule Backlog, Planning Backlog, etc.). Manage and track open work orders (backlog) to ensure fulfillment. Enter and process Maintenance work orders as needed; Create corrective work notifications in SAP for all production equipment. Close work orders (WOs) when complete.

Utilizing Primavera, coordinate scheduling of Maintenance repairs and PM’s acting as the liaison between site Maintenance and Production. Follow up with responsible Maintenance and Roehm Production representatives to ensure equipment is prepared for work.

Review job packages in advance of work being scheduled. Kit parts for upcoming job tasks and projects.

Track and measure the PM programs to ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM's) are completed per schedule.

Assure the permit process is efficient and effective for all contractor work.

Develop and understand KPI’s and other maintenance efficiency measurements to drive continuous improvement and elimination of waste in various work processes and inventory management.

Mentor and train operations on the maintenance workflow process.

Train core staff on tools needed to perform maintenance.

Measure Work Notification total cycle time to completion.

Manage Plant Shutdowns and Turnarounds.

Develop and Track Commissioning Procedures of new facility.

Communicate directly with service providers, vendors, and site maintenance representatives to schedule repairs, perform preventive maintenance (PM’s), and ensure project completion.

Supervision and coordination for Third Party contractors including safety, work assignment, work quality, work completion, and materials management. Oversees progress with Work order (WO) assignments throughout the day. Work closely with site EHS for continued oversight.

Procure maintenance, outside service requirements, and project materials using SAP. Using the SAP system for Bill of Materials (BOM),

Functional Location Management, storeroom functions, and maintenance planning functions.

Ensure parts and supplies inventory management excellence, including security, replenishment, proper storage and maintenance, timely receipt and issuance, inventory count and reconciliation, new item justification, timely inventory reviews for obsolescence and proper quantities.

Monitor use of PPE and other site resources; recommend replacement when due.

Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
-
Engineering degree with minimum 10 years' experience in plant maintenance, or minimum 20 years of experience in plant maintenance in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Must have experience in MRO inventory management and procurement in SAP.

Experience managing maintenance budgets of $10 million or more.

Experience in supervising and coordinating of maintenance contractors including nested personnel (10-12 FTEs) and turnaround personnel (> 100 FTEs).

Proficient with Power BI, Primavera, SAP and MS Office applications.

Proficiency in Maintenance Excellence KPI’s. Understanding and mastery of OEE required since small losses in technical availability (e.g. one day) result in millions in lost revenue.

Knowledge of and ability to read material specifications.

Ability to interface with maintenance, production, ESH, engineering, and tenant resources.

Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
-
Must be able to read and understand written information in English.

Ability to understand and comply with Röhm safety rules and regulations.

Ability to meet onsite plant physical requirements including the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment with proper PPE including respirators and chemical resistant clothing.

This position will follow a standard weekly schedule, however availability for weekend and holiday coverage during shutdowns and critical use periods may be required.
