DESCRIPTION DU POSTE

What’s the job?

The incumbent will interpret, plan, organize and execute unique maintenance issue that have an important impact on major plant programs. Plan, manage and direct all plant, process and facilities maintenance work to ensure manufacturing is given prompt, effective and cost support necessary to achieve productivity and quality goals. This position is accountable for providing support, which contributes to the efficient operation and continual improvement of the general facilities. The functional areas included are Facilities Planning, Facilities Operation, Maintenance, and Site Property Care including routine environmental reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement per the Saint-Gobain Corporation outline.

  • Coordinate and implement TPM and PM schedules on all plant equipment. Develop Work Instructions explaining the needed maintenance to be done on the machine. Audit, track progress and post TPM measures and results. Carry out Clean to Inspect events (Tender, Lubricate and Care).
  • Design and initiate a Training program (Maintenance) to effectively train associates and maintain current communication with them.
  • Design, develop, initiate and present innovative engineering ideas for viable new equipment designs and mechanisms for production machinery to promote more efficient and profitable processes.
  • Supports the manufacturing activities of all products through maintenance of machines, spare parts, buildings, grounds and repair activities to meet customer schedule commitments within quality and cost objectives.
  • Select, train, develop, evaluate and motivate an effective workforce and continuously works to upgrade their skill level. In concert with Human Resources, develops and implements on-going skills assessment and training efforts, both on and off the job, to constantly upgrade the skill level of supervised employees.
  • Maintains continuous dialogue and communication with the Operations Manager and Plant Manager, as needed, to keep him/her apprised of the status of safety, schedules, problems and opportunities available to maximize efficient operations and to enhance overall company manufacturing operations. Displays a personal and professional commitment to the continuous improvement process
  • Analyze capital equipment needs with respect to new technologies and business needs. Investigate, plan, and implement such capital projects. Attend Saint Gobain corporate procurement meetings to understand the Company policies on maintenance supplies. Actively participate in the Capital Project, Safety and Environmental Programs.

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

What do you bring?

  • BS in Engineering or Operations Management preferred.
  • 5-8 years of manufacturing experience in maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering systems and best manufacturing practices and a proven track record of relevant successes in improving the cost of manufacturing and working through others.
  • Understands and is familiar with SAP, Allen Bradley and similar systems, Preventative Maintenance systems, and the use of relevant Reliability tools to assure efficient operations of equipment.
