Dan Schantz Farm is seeking a talented and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at our facility located at 6071 Durham Road, Pipersville, PA 18947.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances, be able to follow direction, and be committed to performing tasks safely and efficiently.

Shift hours for this full-time position are generally Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Some nights and weekends may be needed. Flexibility with work hours is preferred.

The Maintenance Technician will collaborate with the lead Industrial Mechanic to maintain the operation of our commercial greenhouse growing facility.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain and repair greenhouse irrigation equipment, including watering booms, irrigation equipment and auxiliaries, as well as the plumbing related to such units.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Handle other tasks as assigned by management or lead Industrial Mechanic, including electrical repairs, lubricating, adjusting, and inspecting machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns or emergencies with repairs or workarounds as quickly as possible.
• Assist with basic construction tasks.
• Keep all tools, power tools, parts, welding and maintenance equipment in locked storage area.
• Keep workspace organized and in working order.
• Adhere to all safety precautions and procedures and ensure work is done in accordance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications needed:

• Experience with conveyors, bearings, hydraulics, DC drives, minor PLC
• Good communication skills and able to read & write English; bilingual (Spanish) a plus
• Willingness to learn maintenance tasks specific to a commercial greenhouse facility
• Basic electrical and general industrial maintenance knowledge
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn multiple types of welding and programmable logic controls (PLCs)
• Personal tools are not necessary but would be a plus
• OSHA certified or interest to obtain certification

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: regularly required to stand, walk, bend, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; occasionally required to sit, push, pull, twist, reach with hands and arms, lift, move or carry up to 50 pounds; exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, dirt, dust, and other possible allergens.
