The Information Technology Agency has an excellent promotional opportunity for a current City of Ontario employee interested in joining their team as a Management Assistant. The Management Assistant performs administrative and technical duties in the evaluation, development, and administration in support of the Agency operations and activities.

The Management Assistant classification is used in a variety of City departments. This recruitment will result in an eligibility list for this classification to meet the future staffing needs of the departments with openings in this classification. The current vacancy is within the Information Technology Agency.
Background Investigation
Successful candidates appointed to the Ontario Fire Department or Ontario Police Department will be required to complete a comprehensive background investigation which may include, but is not limited to, the following: criminal history, credit history, driving record, neighborhood references, polygraph interview and examination, and a post-offer medical examination (including drug screen).
The Information Technology Agency
The Information Technology Agency provides reliable and innovative information solutions to systems and support to improve business operations, performance and outcomes. Information technology impacts all aspects of City operations, efficiency and customer service. Ontario IT is a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation, which provides support of technology solutions used by all City departments and includes IT support services for the Ontario International Airport. Our extensive information infrastructure includes networks, telecommunications, servers, computers, software, and mobile and field equipment. The IT Agency continuously strives to exhibit integrity, professionalism and teamwork and to deliver consistent and reliable IT services.
The essential functions typically performed by the Management Assistant include the following:
Prepares, revises and implements various administrative policies, procedures, proposals, service contracts, and staff reports in support of areas of assignment; develop and revise departmental forms and reports.- Conducts management studies relating to program activities in area of assignment; conduct surveys, research and analysis of operational issues; identify alternatives and make recommendations.
- Participates in planning and coordinating projects and programs; assists with the development and implementation of program objectives, polices, and procedures.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of automated programs and files.
- Provides assistance to management staff; investigates and responds to complaints and provides resolutions to operational problems; responds to requests for information.
- Assists with the coordination and monitoring of financial, operating activity reports, annual and quarterly reports, and related documents.
- Represents the City in interdepartmental, community, and processional meetings as required.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of files, logs, spreadsheets and other complex and detailed records.
- Monitors assigned accounts, determine appropriate expense allocations; resolves billing discrepancies.
- Reviews contracts and agreements for accuracy; assists with preparation of press releases, and other documents as assigned.
- Participates in various meetings; makes presentations of information as requested.
Education
High school diploma or recognized equivalent, supplemented by specialized training or education related to the area of assignment.
Experience
Four (4) of administrative experience in budget, accounting, operational research and analysis, and/or other related experience.
License
A valid California Class C driver license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
Desirable
Experience related to municipal technology.
