The Manager Data Modeling and Governance’s primary role is to manage a high performing team to the create, implement, and maintain a modeling, master data management and data governance strategy at Quantum Health to enable system capabilities, data lineage, and metadata management for data assets while enabling compliance with regulatory data requirements.


What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with BI professionals, Application Development leaders and business stakeholders to provide and guide the team to create logical and physical model designs to data engineers and software developers to implement a design first culture for data products.
  • Model data in a manner that seamlessly integrates into the master data management and data governance practices.
  • Work closely with technology experts and business stakeholders to ensure the uniformity, accuracy, stewardship, semantic consistency and accountability of Quantum Health’s data assets within its systems.
  • Enable data privacy and security compliance with effective master data and metadata management.
  • Establish metadata standards, patterns and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Work very closely with business leaders to establish a Data Governance Council with Data Stewards, Data Guardians and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Partner with vendors to provide the tooling and methodologies necessary for data governance. Work closely with process owners and business leaders to deconflict competing data structure that deoptimize Quantum’s business performance.
  • Recruit, lead and develop a team culture with an open mind to constructive criticism, sharing honest non-judgmental feedback, and embracing a positive and pragmatic attitude towards continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, Mathematics or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, database design, data architecture, data modeling metadata management within standing and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • At least 1 -2 successful data modeling implementations with an enterprise data modeling tool such as ER Studio or ERwin for dimensional models in an enterprise data warehouse.
  • At least 1 successful prior data governance implementation or experience being a governance partner leveraging an Governance Platform like Collibra.
  • Proficiency in Master Data Management, Data Governance, and data modeling practices to include conceptual, logical, physical and dimensional models as well as metadata management.
  • Experience in healthcare data, healthcare applications, CRM/workforce management and telephony data.
  • Proficiency in relational SQL and NoSQL database technologies to include NoSQL document, graph and columnar databases as well as NoSQL KVP stores and data streaming technologies such as Kafka, SQS, SNS and like technologies.
  • Hands on experience with ETL tools, data warehouses, dimensional star schemas and OLAP technologies.
  • Ability to build data behavior consensus across the enterprise by collaborating with business leaders and stakeholders that create, consume, alter or depend on data to deliver business value.
  • Familiarity with enterprise, software and data architecture layers of abstraction that impact and influence data management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to produce measurable operational capabilities through capability models.
  • A solid understanding of data lineage and movement through APIs, data streaming and scheduled batch cycles across operational and analytics environments.
  • The ability to present and influence stakeholders with effective visualizations and communication skills to solve business problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Able to recruit, lead, coordinate, motivate and influence a highly skilled team of data professionals.
  • Protect and take care of our company and member’s data every day by committing to work within our company ethics and policies.
  • Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
