WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR


The Manager, Development will lead, manage, and scale individual giving focused on annual giving. You will create and manage a large pipeline of prospects and donors, strengthening the connection between donors and MusiCares. You will partner with the marketing department to create creative communication journeys through email, social media, and the website. You are just as great with data as you are with people and will use the database and storytelling to compel grassroots donations. You will play a key role in increasing overall revenue. The Manager, Development will have an entrepreneurial spirit with an inclination for action and embody MusiCares values: service, inclusivity, empowerment, and integrity.



WHAT YOU’LL DO


Annual Giving Campaigns

  • Evaluate current giving data on grassroots donations to analyze trends
  • Create a strategy for online annual giving campaigns (tribute gifts, peer-to-peer, Giving Tuesday, etc.)
  • Improve donor acquisition strategies for online giving, monthly giving, and corporate matching
  • Develop compelling narratives to garner new donors, renew donors, and retain donors
  • Create opportunities for donors to give and stewardship plans; accountable for donor relations
  • Own a pipeline of donors, creating journeys to close and/or upsell donors
  • Track donor performance and explore and implement new strategies to maximize revenue
  • Partner with marketing to develop collateral and to create engaging donor communications
  • Act as point of contact for donors giving under $25,000
  • Responsible for prospect research, as needed

  • Proactively identifies major gift prospects and proposes to the Managing Director
  • Stay up to date on fundraising industry insights

Operations

  • Take a deep dive into the current donor management database and suggest workflow, automation, and data improvements
  • Accurately integrate or input data in CRM
  • Analyze data and evaluate areas of success and areas for improvement
  • Prioritize database workflows, reports, and support building new workflow habits
  • Create reporting process to track metrics and revenue projections

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum bachelor's degree
  • Experience with a donor CRM, Salesforce preferred
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to interact with variety of different constituents
  • Proven success in identifying and soliciting funds and developing relationships with donors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required, demonstrating ability in persuasive storytelling
  • Excellent time management skills and a high degree of organization, careful attention to detail, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in campaign and project planning
  • Well-disciplined, self-motivated, and goal-driven; able to work with a high degree of independence as well as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems.
