POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Drilling & Completions will report to the Director-Bakken Drilling and Completions in the Minot, ND office.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ND Senior Manager – D&C Leadership Team
    • Provide organizational leadership and develop aligned/empowered people, active member of Well Factory Leadership team
    • Responsible to deliver on business plan objectives: new well delivery, budget, operations optimization, etc.
    • Delivers defect-free wells to provide asset with well reliability and availability
    • Coordinates activities and deliverables management in Drilling and Completions operations
    • Assess and adjust business priorities through partnership with supporting functions, D&C Engineering Sr Manager, and Area Work Team Leads
    • Support Strategic Relationship management in relationship building, operational performance, safety performance, and contractual obligations
    • Accountability for Operational input to SPS WF planning, management of commitment reliability and work scheduling to optimize well factory workflows
    • Support remediation of defect wells / interventions and SWD wells


  • Drives Cultural Change
    • Promotes and supports embedment of Hess safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a safety leader
    • Standardize across Bakken D&C – site access, SSE enforcement, etc.
    • Active participant and leader within Bakken Safety Committee and Area Safety Committee within the asset and outward with core and strategic suppliers
    • Participate in incident investigation and closure of actions
    • Participate and support Bakken Emergency Response program


  • Supervision, Mentoring, Succession Planning
    • Participates in the objective-setting and strategy development process
    • Fosters individual and team development utilizing succession planning, individual development planning, technical/soft skills training of leadership team
    • Holds teams and individuals accountable for performance


  • Continuous Improvement
    • Develop a robust culture of lean and innovation by setting clear long-term strategies and associated objectives that empower the organization to look for ways to make their jobs easier and improve asset present value
    • Accountable for Lean leadership development and implementation, as well as supporting process improvement of the drilling and completions operations
    • Utilizes effective change management practices to minimize deterioration in productivity during implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Wells Extended Leadership Team
    • TA3 for Bakken Drilling and Completions Operations
    • Participate in enterprise level functional peer reviews and peer assists as appropriate


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 15-20 years Oilfield experience
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft)
  • In-depth understanding of drilling and completions (frac, coil, flowback/well testing), engineering and operations, required
  • In-depth understanding of applicable safety requirements, practices and cultural development
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment


Education, Training & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical)
