Chanel, Inc. a leader in the luxury goods industry seeks a Manager, in Buying – Ready-To-Wear for the US Fashion Division. This individual will be responsible for managing the seasonal merchandising strategy and facilitating the development of unique assortments in accordance with global and regional strategies.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
Business Management
  • You will support the Senior Managers, Buying for RTW in creating/implementing strategic initiatives to drive the business
  • Actively aid in creatively determining the product assortments every collection (8 collections/year), taking into consideration the studio’s spirit and intent of each collection, regional specificities, historical performance, budget forecasts, and strategic vision by Boutique
  • Drive collection vitality in-season through the management of inventory movement through product transfers, consolidations, and support of VIC client requests
  • Monitor and identify business opportunities/challenges by Boutique and deliver business recaps with recommendations
  • Manage the US pricing process for RTW which includes key partnerships with Operation, Account Services, Technology, and Global Supply Chain
  • Work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure presentation of collections for launches, Events, and special BTQ moments brings alignment to the seasonal brand image messages & business strategies
  • Manage product selection, flow, and deliveries in partnership with Visual Merchandising, Account Services, Global Supply Chain, and Planning to guarantee optimal and impactful collection launches and events
  • Partner with other product category teams (primarily Fashion, but not excluding Watches & Fine Jewelry and Fragrance & Beauty) to ensure a holistic brand approach with RTW as the driver of our brand image
  • Participate in annual business planning, financial reporting, and budget forecasting for the product category in partnership with Planning
  • Manage marketing/sample requests and product discovery assortments
  • Develop strong partnerships with additional internal departments: Boutique leaders, Global Product Merchandising, Operations, Education/Style Expertise, Client Analytics, Strategy, Client Engagement, Events and PR/Marketing
  • Actively follow the industry and seasonal trends, while also having a strong pulse on the competitive market and key influencers
Reporting & Analysis
  • Accountability and ownership of in-season and market prep reporting including analyses of sales, sell-thru, inventory, months of supply and shipments in Excel/PowerBI
  • Conduct/summarize deep dive and ad hoc analysis on the business to impact future strategies
  • Present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal analysis reviews of the category’s performance (by boutique, product pillar, classification, style/color)
Boutique Support
  • Support delivery of seasonal product vision to boutique teams and provide product knowledge tools
  • Creatively drive engagement to promote styling, storytelling, and craftsmanship in partnership with Education and Style Expertise teams
  • Act as key resource for the Boutique and field teams to address client requests/inquiries for product category
  • Be an active part of the communication stream with Boutique teams to maintain pulse on clients, local market needs, and competitive landscape
  • Build relationships with boutique teams through Boutique visits, attending/conducting trainings, events, and engaging in business conversations

  • Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills; ability to articulate to various audiences in many contexts (Boutique/Corporate)

Position Logistics:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Minimum Years of Experience: 4+ years in a buying-related, strategic/analytical role with demonstrated results in impacting business
Travel Requirements: Up to 15%-30% regular travel (domestic and possible international)
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $64,200 through $105,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
