The role you’ll contribute:
The Manager of Patient & Family Engagement leads efforts across AdventHealth that result in a robust engagement of our consumers in their own healthcare journey, as well as in lasting partnerships with our markets and system that impact the overall consumer experience.
This role manages development/refinement of consumer facing resources, processes and collateral that engage consumers in their healthcare journey and impact the patient experience, with a heavy emphasis on the EPIC journey and associated features/processes, as well as more general on-going system-wide experience resource/collateral needs across all care settings.
The Manager leads efforts across AdventHealth to engage consumers in partnership with AdventHealth in our markets and at the system level. Responsible for the on-going evolution of the AdventHealth branded approach to Patient & Family Experience Councils (PFECs), the manager works with market executives and experience leaders to ensure a robust evidence-based approach to engaging consumers in relationships that help improve the experience for all. The manager networks markets on how to best leverage PFECs and individual Patient Experience Partners, advises in the stand-up of councils, and provides system level storytelling and reporting on the impact of these engagements across AdventHealth.
Leveraging consumer and patient experience expertise, this role actively engages as a SME on a variety of projects and committees ensuring that the needs of our consumers are always at the forefront.
This role supports Director in efforts focused on The Whole Care Experience and MIPR process.

- Strong project and change management skillset
- Knowledge of clinical and nonclinical acute hospital operations and continuum of care (connected care) pre/post-acute services
- Innovative and creative approach to project planning and design
- Strong consultant skillset, with the ability to influence all levels in the organization
- Exhibits excellent complex analytical, and change management skills
- Solid ability to analyze and evaluate business problems by defining the challenges, identifying alternatives, and making timely decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interface effectively with physicians, nursing, non-clinical and executive leadership
- Strong knowledge of Patient Experience best practices, and how to best integrate with clinical care
- Strong knowledge of patient and family centered care, relationship-based care concepts and motivational interviewing concepts
- Expertise in effective methods of education and adult learning practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- PDSA, Lean, or Six Sigma application knowledge
•Patient & Family Centered Care, Relationship Based-Care, and Motivational Interview Concepts •Empathy/Service Recovery
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree: Nursing or Health Care related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of healthcare related experience
- 2 years of experience with healthcare project management with demonstrated success
- 2 years of experience in nursing management or 2-years of experience consulting with executives and operational leaders in a multi-campus environment on the best-practices of consumer experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Change Management Certification
- Certified Patient Experience Professional or Certified Customer Experience Professional
CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Nursing License
