Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Manager Team Leader to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The MCTP trains Brigade, Division, and Corps Commanders and their staffs during simulation-driven command post Warfighter Exercises (WFX) in support of Large-Scale Combat Operations and across Multi-Domain Operations.
The Team Leader will provide liaison and direct support to the MCTP Commander responsible for generating an operational environment for MCTP warfighter exercises. This may include supporting Army, Joint, Combined WFXs, training of brigade combat teams, functional and multi-functional brigades, expeditionary sustainment commands and sustainment brigades, and Army special operations forces during embedded or stand-alone WFXs. Scenarios will feature the Decisive Action Training Environment, make use of Hybrid Threat doctrine as specified by TRADOC TC 7-100, and integrate Unified Action Partner capabilities to meet operational training objectives.
Lead a contract staff team responsible for the design, scripting, and drafting of operational scenarios supporting MCTP exercises. The Decisive Action Training Environment will serve as the centerpiece of scenario development and may integrate Unified Action Partner capability, all against a Hybrid Threat.
Maintain staff capability to adjust to Mission Readiness Exercise specific scenarios when required.
Assist MCTP COGs in development and delivery of After-Action Review products.
Advise MCTP leadership on training observations, trends, and best practices.
Train and develop multi-disciplined capability in subordinate staff.
Sustain staff relevancy through on-line training, research, and networking across the FORSCOM/TRADOC community of practice.
Primary duty is Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; 30% travel requirement CONUS/OCONUS.
Perform other duties as assigned in general support of the MCTP mission support contract.
Basic Qualifications
Military Education Level 4 (Intermediate Level Education) graduate
Former field grade officer
Successfully served in a key developmental position at brigade/battalion level
Served in a division/corps level staff position with recent mission command experience
Able to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations unassisted
Current SECRET clearance; must be TOP SECRET eligible
Preferred Qualifications
School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMs) graduate or equivalent.
MCTP COG experience and/or Army service school instructor
Experience in OIF or OEF within the past five years
Joint Staff officer qualified
Experience at the Joint, Unified Command, or Joint Task Force level or higher
