For over 90 years, Gold Medal has been a family-owned business and a leader in the concession industry for both equipment and supplies including popcorn, cotton candy, Sno-Kones and much more. Due to our continued growth, we are searching for an experienced Manual Machinist/Machining Center Operator to join our Machine Shop team.

The Machinist/Machining Center Operator will operate a variety of Haas Mills, Haas Lathes, Bridgeport type mills, and other “manual” machine centers (Drill press, band saw, etc.).

The ideal candidate has the following skills/experience:

· Ability to identify common raw materials, proper tooling and work-holding devices

· Competent with typical measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, and edge finders).

· Must be able to read, follow and understand blueprints, methods and procedural instructions. Responsible for machining parts to print and checking own work.

· Familiar with Haas controls and G & M codes.

· Follow set-up sheet instructions, set tool lengths and work offsets, familiar with “A” axis also a plus.

· Required to check parts to print and adjust tool offsets as required.

· Familiar with GibbsCam programming a plus.

· Must be able to stand for long periods in a fast paced shop environment.

· Regularly required to stand, bend and reach. Lift up to 50 lbs at times.

· High School Diploma/GED required

· Technical School certificate/degree preferred.

· 5-7 years of Machine Shop experience preferred

Compensation is based on job requirements and your skill level. In addition to an excellent benefit package which includes 8 paid holidays, Gold Medal pays for 90% of the costs of medical insurance for our employees. We also offer an excellent 401k plan and a PTO program that offers 3 weeks of paid time off after one year.
