Job description
The Manufacturing Cost Estimator will be a key member of the estimation team, reporting to the Director of Engineering and Quality. The candidate should be a dedicated, detail-oriented individual, who shows self-initiative and can prioritize and concurrently work multiple priorities, with a proven track record of developing, coordinating, and executing estimations on time.

Responsibilities:
- Estimate labor and material requirements for a variety of different products.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, parts lists, specifications, etc. to ensure manufacturability and cost to manufacture.
- Review customer RFQ's and determine material requirements, processing, and manufacturing requirements.
- Communication with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations.
- Work with outside suppliers/services to achieve best possible prices.
- Determines tooling requirements.
- Consolidate all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time.
- Create detailed quote packages for final review.
- Work with shop floor and engineering/quality to ensure all data for manufacture is accurate and complete before final package is prepared.
- Analyzes various pricing scenarios/checks margins.
- Provide accurate quotes on a timely basis, as needed.
- Communicate any issues to Director of Engineering and Quality.
- Ensure efficient and effective quoting processes for the company.
- Maintains and organizes all quote documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience in estimation and proposals, or similar.
- Experience auditing accuracy of forecast labor and material requirements to produce reliable estimations.
- Experience leading a project and/or program from RFQ to project on-boarding to transition to production.
- Experience with sheet-metal fabrication, cable harness manufacturing, and assembly operations.
- Proposal experience with knowledge of cost estimating and RFQ processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Course work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or similar discipline.
- Strong knowledge of metal processing, such as forming, joining, machining, anodizing, passivation, etc.
- Working knowledge of IPC-620.
- Familiarity with CAD, preferably SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Office suite.
