About our group:


The Wafer Yield group is responsible for gathering yield data in support of continuous improvement projects that will be used by the business to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and increase yields. Manufacturing Specialist will report to the Training Coordinator in Recording Head Operations, Manufacturing group.

About the role - you will:


  • Drive continuous improvement projects by tracking yield data to analyze scrap trends.
  • Present findings in the manufacturing Yield Meeting.
  • Develop, organize, and schedule onboard training sessions and induction methodology for temporary workers across all shifts
  • Be responsible for the administration of the shift metrics & scorecards’ databases with respect to yield and mfg. misprocess/near miss.
  • Track, trend & publish weekly metrics.
  • Conduct audits in yield, housekeeping, cleanroom, contamination, EHS, etc.
  • Drive corrective actions by consistent follow-up on identified issues.
  • Create reports used to enhance systems for data visibility and tracking of continuous improvement activities.
  • Act as knowledge transfer & point of expertise on Incident Map creation with shift teams.
  • Subject Matter Expert for Cleanroom Protocol engagement including audits, continuous improvement projects, and housekeeping.
  • Drive knowledge sharing across shifts for best practices between all departments.
  • Be a resource of knowledge for supply chain, contamination reduction activities, New Product Development (NPD), schedule, cost-reduction.

About you:


  • Able to work in cleanroom environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (verbally and electronically) with multiple levels of engineering, operations, and other personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues affecting lot movement and yield issues - proactively and reactively.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership or team participation in process improvement projects
  • Expertise with wafer factory systems (MES, XSITE, RHOWeb and DARS)

Your experience includes:


  • Experience working in the wafer factory with some demonstrated knowledge of production processes.
  • Working knowledge of Google for Business (Gmail, Google docs) and MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
