About the Role: The Core Technology Coatings Team at Lovett is seeking a highly motivated manufacturing technician to understand and apply the team's fundamental technology. This commitment provides the opportunity to join an established team and help ensure that we are meeting our operations objectives and business needs. The standard hours are Sunday night – Friday morning 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
  • Learn, support, practice the Gore culture
  • Follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment with a focus on producing quality product and achieving team production goals
  • Interact and communicate with a cross-functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new-product-development engineers
  • Make informed product quality decisions based on product documentation
  • Understand and apply the team’s fundamental technology as it applies to manufacturing and testing
  • Perform computer data entry
  • Understand and adhere to basic work instructions and procedures, while providing suggestions for improvement
  • Utilize our quality systems to ensure that processes consistently deliver products that meet customer needs and expectations
  • Identify and actively participate in continues improvement efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience performing preventative maintenance on complex equipment
  • Attentiveness to detail, good documentation and record keeping skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Safety oriented
  • Identify, conceptualize, and solve problems
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Basic math and computer skills with ability to learn more advanced computer applications
  • Adapt to changes in production schedule and shift to other manufacturing areas on short notice
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts to meet business needs
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds several times over an 8-hour period; also stand for most of the shift and climb steps as needed while wearing a headset

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years prior experience operating complex manufacturing equipment
  • PTFE manipulation experience and / or ePTFE coating or lamination experience
  • Familiarity with quality control systems

This role requires pre-hire medical clearance by Gore which may include testing to assess visual acuity and/or the ability to wear specific safety equipment as required during the performance of the role.
