POSITION: Marketing and Public Relations Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Marketing and Public Relations Manager is responsible for creating and delivering marketing ideas and activities in a variety of forms to promote the mission and vision of the Educational Service Center. The manager develops concepts and works collaboratively with the graphic designer to create marketing materials, manages projects, and ensures agency messages are consistent. The Marketing and Public Relations Manager is responsible for marketing, promotions, advertisements, and informative material. This person also plans or coordinates agency wide events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Experience in marketing, digital marketing, media relations, and crisis communication.
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies.
  • Understand and apply relevant privacy regulations.
  • Experience with planning events and managing budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with administering website content management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, communities and organizations.
  • Able to use technology effectively to market and coordinate professional development.
  • Able to use a variety of communication methods to build relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • History of excellent job attendance.
  • Must pass criminal background checks, and be free from communicable disease.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop agency marketing plan in cooperation with core leadership and strategic planning goals to promote the mission and vision of agency.
  • Coordinate the creation, delivery of optimized marketing materials.

OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • To serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
  • To help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: Board policies and procedures; required local, state and federal reports and legislation effecting employment; public relations, social media and communication platforms, event planning, budget management, strategic communication and communications planning.
Ability to: Interpret policy, rules and regulations; compile and prepare required reports; communicate effectively with all levels of staff and public; employ independent judgment, initiative, and decision-making skills; logically analyze any problem and make needed recommendations; Handle information confidentially. Work successfully in a culturally diverse environment.
Skill in: Use of audiovisual equipment, computer, office equipment.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Audiovisual equipment, computer, standard office equipment, and telephone.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional: Exposure to unruly children/adults, blood, bodily fluids and tissue, inclement weather driving conditions, to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent: Bending, lifting, twisting and repetitive motion.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.

STARTING DATE: Summer of 2023
SALARY: $ 45,000 - $55,000 based upon education and experience
BENEFITS: Excellent benefit package offered to all full time employees
WORK YEAR: Full Time – 220 days
