Redwood Credit Union is looking for an experience Marketing Specialist who will, under limited supervision, takes a lead role & performs a wide variety of semi routine and complex marketing tasks including project management of diverse assignments that support The Redwood Group's strategic, organization and departmental initiatives. Working closely on a daily basis with the Senior Marketing Specialists and reporting to the Marketing Manager, acts as a key & primary marketer of select product lines and campaign project leaders for Redwood Credit Union and its subsidiaries.

Essential Functions are listed below:

Marketing Responsibilities and Duties: 70%

  • Initiates, develops, manages, coordinates, executes, monitors & communicates all aspects of marketing campaigns & other assigned comprehensive campaigns/projects. Includes working with stakeholders & agency partners.
  • Responsible for developing marketing campaigns for the Credit Union and RCU's wholly-owned subsidiary RCUSG, which include:
    • Marketing and/or competitive research and analysis
    • Writing/development of marketing program descriptions and plans
    • Establishing campaign goals, identification/segmentation of target audience and acquiring data files
    • Works and collaborates with stakeholders, retains agencies and/or works with in-house resources to develop marketing materials, execute campaigns, and monitor and report results.
  • Develops and executes marketing campaigns that may include online or mobile ads, emails, direct mail, advertising, broadcast (radio, cable, digital), online marketing/website campaigns and content development, social media, newsletter articles, statement inserts, brochures, Member testimonials photos or videos and other tactics
  • Makes recommendations to Senior Marketing Specialists and Marketing Manager regarding media presence (online, print, radio, broadcast, etc.) for the Credit Union, including planning, organizing, negotiating and buying media, once plan is approved and all contracts signed by Marketing Manager or SVP/Marketing & Communications.
  • Monitors competitive landscape and best practices to identify and drive new ideas. Incorporates market changes into methods and materials to ensure relevant marketing and communications and to maximize marketing and brand impact.
  • Works closely with the Marketing Research & Data Specialist to ensure effective use of data for decision making and target marketing that leads to superior results while maximizing efficiencies and ensuring the protection of our Members’ confidential data.
  • Executes strategies to effectively track conversions through the Marketing Consumer Information File’s (MCIF) campaign manager system, and other tools and systems.
  • Develops & communicates campaign plans, bringing together key players, and uses post promotional and ROI analysis to refine future projects for increased response rates and efficiency.
  • Maintains and develops The Redwood Group’s brands, ensuring effective and consistent use of the names, logos, and other representations of the companies both internally and externally.
  • Provides marketing support/expertise to internal groups and committees to complete initiatives, long and short term projects, rollout of new programs, etc.
  • Participates and contributes to the annual marketing plan and budget.

Department Support: 20%

  • Responsible for variety of quality control, proofreading tasks and other marketing support as requested.
  • Provides excellent service to Members, Officials, management, staff, vendors and community contacts and ensures positive relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Manages or assists in coordinating special events and ensures proper planning and execution. Events include the Annual Membership Meeting, branch and other Member and community events.

Non-Essential Functions: 10%

  • Takes active role in community events and contributes to local area non-profits via volunteerism, expert knowledge sharing, and serves as an ambassador in the community on behalf of RCU.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant experience and knowledge of current marketing techniques and practices and marketing campaign management.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, practices, rules, regulations, product guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of list management and lead generation techniques.
  • Knowledge and skills in technology including online marketing, websites, and SEO.
  • Knowledge of diverse media available plus media evaluation & buying/placement experience.
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute multi-step campaigns, projects and events.
  • Highly Member-focused and service driven with demonstrated marketing program management & implementation experience.
  • Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience and familiarity in working with advertising agencies and vendor partners.
  • Experience with organizational, project management skills and ability to prioritize, multi-task, successfully meet deadlines and achieve results.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to ensure quality control.
  • Ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint and strong knowledge of website and online tools and resources.
  • Working proficiency and knowledge of databases and target marketing platforms, such as content management systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms and/or database systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication abilities both verbally and in writing. Strong command of English language including grammar and punctuation.
  • Strong team player with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous marketing campaign and comprehensive marketing program planning, execution and monitoring/reporting experience required. Financial institution marketing and/or credit union industry experience strongly preferred. Ability to speak and write Spanish preferred.

Compensation:
Base salary range: $38.00 to $48.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
