At Goodnight Moon Child Care teaching is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to encourage curiosity, creativity, and compassion in children while helping them develop a lifelong love for learning. As a Teacher at Goodnight Moon, you’ll create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. We work with children from Infant to Kindergarten and school aged for before, after care, school closings, and school breaks. You’ll help guide these little ones through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
* Observes all rules and regulations at Goodnight Moon Child Care and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
* Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with developmentally appropriate curriculum and programming using Early Learning Guidelines.
* Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
* Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior within a nurturing environment.
* Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds.
* Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Goodnight Moon Child Care Employee Handbook
* Assists in other capabilities that Director, Assistant Director, or Person in charge, determines is necessary.
Desired skills and experience:
* Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency
* Teacher Required
* Approved Entry-Level Child Care Training (ELCCT) listed on the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) website prior or within 90 days of employment
* CPR, First Aid and Safe Sleep in infant room required or obtain during employment
* Master teacher level 3 ((Oklahoma Competency Certificate) or above preferred
* Infant - Preschool Teachers: 2 year degree in early childhood, related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
* Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
* Knowledge of academic, social, emotional, physical and creative needs of young children
* Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of crib.

* Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and more.
* Work with your co-teachers to implement the lesson plans using Early Learning Guidelines to create Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum.
* Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
* Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
* Reliable between 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday with reliable transportation.
