What does a Materials Manager do at Rinnai?
Manages material purchasing, planning, inventory cycle counting, physical inventory for the RAM facilities.
- This position is located at 500 The Lakes Parkway in Griffin, GA.
What you will do?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership to RAM Materials team.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Plan For Every Part (PFEP) for Ram facility
- Oversee the packaging and raw material flow from purchase order to production usage - including order placement, shipping, import, receiving, transfer, inventory management
- Manage and improve the material planning function through the implementation of planning best practices and the full utilization of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) / MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) systems
- Own materials ERP/MRP Master Data to ensure proper replenishment requirements are generated
- Establish required inventory levels based on usage patterns / forecasts / product life cycle / other factors, set minimum safety stock levels / reorder points
- Continually assess potential supply risks and propose solutions to protect production at our RAM facility
- Verify accuracy of purchase orders adhere to ERP/MRP set ups and overall inventory strategy
- Solve delivery discrepancies by closely working with inventory team, accounting department, and vendors
- Coordinate with other departments, (R&D, Quality, Production, Accounting, Supply Planning) to set up new materials, solve quality issues, production requests, investigate material payable issues, etc.
- Partner with Sourcing on business continuity planning, supplier improvement, and cost reduction activities
- Lead obsolete & expired materials process to minimize waste.
- Provide a positive working and learning environment for RAM Material’s team.
- Embrace and support growing business demands in a changing environment.
- Participate in various projects and report analysis as requested.
- Awareness and compliance of Company Policies and Procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
- Planning/purchasing/inventory control experience preferred.
SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in supply chain management, planning and inventory control.
- High level of analytical and administrative skills
- Experience with PFEP
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
