Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of MBA Programs, the Recruiter/Advisor will provide student-centered proactive recruitment and academic advising services to prospective and current MBA Students. The Recruiter/Advisor will assist students in the development of meaningful educational plans that are compatible with their personal and/or career goals. A major focus will be to create and maintain an interactive environment that
encourages mutual trust, open communication, and support in achieving academic success for all students interested and enrolled in the MBA Program at Ashland University. Additionally, this position will engage with the comprehensive enrollment funnel, and be responsible for moving students from inquiry status to enrolled student at Ashland University.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a caseload of MBA Students, including Cohort students participating in courses virtually, and at our Cleveland and Columbus campuses.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of interaction with students; participate in a data driven marketing and recruiting environment.
  • Assesses the student’s stage of development (academic, career, and personal) and promotes student growth by determining suitable developmental tasks; assists students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.
  • Advises students on academic, career, and personal issues; identifies the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assists with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications.
  • Identifies options for students to satisfy degree requirements; evaluates and makes recommendations on petitions and amendments to student’s program of study; assists students in completion.
  • Retrieve and input student information in various software platforms.
  • Develop advising materials and presentations to support individuals and group student sessions.
  • Communicate with students regularly to apprise them of semester dates, deadlines and other relevant university policies and procedures.
  • Receive and submit referrals to and from faculty and other University offices for academic issues or personal concerns.
  • Serve as a liaison and foster intentional relationships with other advisors, offices, colleges, and departments on campus; serve on various institutional committees.
  • Participate in Admissions, Graduation, Corporate outreach initiatives, Job Fairs, and Orientations related events as requested.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends in MBA education.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and the evaluation of the MBA programs’ goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with peers by participating in the exchange of ideas, information and philosophies through professional development.
  • Understand the institution’s interpretation of FERPA rules for the release of student information to faculty, parents, students, etc.
  • Maintains contact with and following-up on prospective students from first recruitment. contact to enrollment at AU via mailings, correspondence, telephone contact. Serves as each prospect’s liaison for information about Ashland University’s MBA Programs, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required


Experience:
  • One (1) to three (3) years experience in a higher education setting

Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills; Experience utilizing CRM and ERP services
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others and in teams
  • Proven ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to work with complex systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Higher Education preferred
  • Three (3) years Current or Previous Academic Advising Experience, preferred
  • Experienced with Data Management Systems – Slate CRM, Professional Advising Services, and Registration experience preferred
