Major Responsibilities:
*Perform all phases of electrical work:
-Installation and maintenance of equipment
-Trouble-shooting and repair
-Maintenance
*Perform all phases of mechanical repair:
-Setters and hatchers
-Generators
-Ventilation system
-Sanitation equipment
-Chick processing equipment
*Perform metal fabrication and repair:
-Electric welding and cutting
-Acetylene welding and cutting
Sheet metal
*Perform building maintenance and repair:
-Carpentry
-Painting
-Plumbing
*Perform other duties as directed by Hatchery Superintendent
Position Requirements:
*In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following qualifications:
-Demonstrate some knowledge of two of the above areas, and a willingness to learn other phases of hatchery maintenance
-Must be able to lift heavy objects
-Must be able to work in awkward positions, and in the presence of dust, hot, humid areas, foul odors and chemical agents
-Must be able to respond to emergency calls during off-duty hours
