We are currently hiring a Mechanical Technician! In this role you will support the development of NMC cathode materials including Hi-Ni chemistries from recycled feedstocks in both RnD level and preproduction level.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform predictive, regular preventive and emergency maintenance on lab and plant equipment, utility, and supporting systems
• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild of stirring reactors, furnaces, mixers, pumps, and other equipment
• Optimize lab and plant processes by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
• Support scaling up the process to pilot level (up to 1000L)
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies
• Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures
• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment
• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

Education and Other Requirements:

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, or similar
• Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in maintaining mechanical systems and applications, preferably in a chemical plant
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough technical knowledge in the field of mechanical maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes
• Thorough understanding of basic mechanics, mechanical theory, mechanical troubleshooting techniques, and safe work practices
• Repair experience with gear drives, pumps, piping, rigging, fabrication, control valves, couplings, bearings, mixers, steam systems, and repair of complex mechanical equipment and systems
• Able to read and comprehend mechanical and control drawings and schematics
• Able to troubleshoot complex mechanical and piping systems
• Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs outside of business hours
• Strong multi-tasking competency
