Job description
In accordance with established company policies and procedures, Med Techs are responsible for
- safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments as listed on the Medication
- Administration Record (MAR).
- This applicant will speak with providers and outpatient teams in regard to the use and needs of
- medication refills and possible modifications.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe administration of medications at all times ensuring the 6 rights of medication administration are followed
- Count and sign on approved form, all narcotics with approved personal before accepting medication

- Order all necessary medication and treatments from appropriate pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is no less than 7 days
- Responsible for weekly inspections of all medications to ensure all expired medications are removed
- Provide all necessary caregiving tasks to include, but not limited to, vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, and weights
- Assist with or administer medications to members according to their Medication Administration
- Record (MAR), if no errors are noted, uphold the member?s philosophy, and protect member?s privacy
- Document clearly and accurately on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) after a medication is taken/given, refused, held, discontinued, changed, disposed of, returned, following the residence policy
- Explain to the members what medication is being given and why, prior to assisting with/administering the medication
- Dispose of infectious and potentially infectious waste according to the members policy and procedure,
- Transcribe doctors? orders to MARS/Lab sheets
- Attend all regular staff meeting and required training
