Medical optometry practice with optical dispensary is looking for a PART-TIME FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST AND OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN to join our practice.

Our practice is an optometrist owned full-service medical optometry practice located in Elmont, NY. We provide comprehensive eye examinations, glaucoma screenings, diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lenses and pediatric eye examinations. We also offer a wide selection of designer and in-house frames.

Responsibilities and Skills

• Answering phones, scheduling and confirming patient appointments.

• Greeting patients upon arrival in a friendly and compassionate manner.

• Verify insurances and check insurance eligibility

• Prepare and gather necessary paperwork including patient demographics medical and vision insurance eligibilities and materials for doctors and fellow staff members

• Performing administrative duties as needed
• MUST be computer literate and be able to work with EHR software
• MUST have some medical terminology knowledge
• Perform ophthalmic testing duties. Willing to CROSS-TRAIN motivated candidates to perform ophthalmic testing duties as required.

• The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills with great bedside manner, be able to multi-task and work as a team player

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Prior experience preferred but not necessary, willing to train motivated candidates

Availability:

• WEEKEND availabilities are a MUST

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
