Knowledge & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Science subject at GCSE level or equivalent.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Use of computers including MS Office
- Awareness of Health and Safety Issues.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Experience of working in a clinical laboratory including principles of Quality Management Systems.
- Experience of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate efficiently with other members of the laboratory both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
- Good hand-eye co-ordination
- Ability to learn new techniques, (e.g. making up simple solutions)
- Ability to work efficiently and carry out routine tasks without being constantly reminded.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and motivation
