OFFICE MANAGER for busy Gastro Office in Delray Beach

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for running the day-to-day activities of an internal medical practice. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates objectives to produce a smooth-running office with optimum revenue productions. Acts as a liaison for physician(s), staff, and Administration.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the medical practice’s daily activity to maximize opportunities for growth and income.
  • Assures that policies and procedures regarding medical records, accounts receivable, inventory, personnel and property management are properly carried out.
  • Assures that on the job, and in-service training, and orientation are conducted at the office or at Training for new and previous employees as needed.
  • Supervises, recruits, and selects competent clerical, professional and auxiliary personnel.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the practice.
  • Interacts effectively with patients and other members of the organization to maintain good public relations.
  • Manages scheduling for personnel staffing for adequate coverage for any absences.
  • Ensures that the following functions are performed: time punch approval, employee evaluations and counseling to Human Resources, oversees ordering of medical supplies, maintenance, and repairs of office, and prepares purchase orders and invoices for payment to accounts payable.
  • Ensures necessary financial information and monthly management reports are supplied to physicians from the Revenue Cycle Management and Administration.
  • Assists physicians when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· 2-5 year’s supervisor or management experience in a medical setting with medical terminology, medical insurance billing and computer experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of insurance carrier payment policies, practices, and amounts.

· Knowledge with Athena, CPT, and ICD-10 codes a plus.

· Excellent oral and written organizational skills, with ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians, and patients.

· Must have the ability to delegate workloads.

· Handles interruptions and unpredictable situations.

· Must demonstrate good judgment regarding confidentiality policy.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Flexible to handle unexpected daily challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer operating skills.
  • Able to use a 10 key by touch.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
