Job description
Strategic Analysis (SA) is seeking a well-rounded individual to satisfy a requirement for a Program Analyst/Meeting Planner part-time position in our Conference Services Division (CSD) to support our government clientele. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to deadlines. In addition to working well in a dynamic, fast paced team environment, as a successful candidate you will incorporate the following:
Requirements:
- 1+ years meeting or event planning experience
- College degree
- Experience in planning meetings, conferences or events ranging in size from 10 to 1000 attendees
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of meeting industry software and online registration tools
- Familiarity with basic Audio/Visual equipment
- Extremely well organized, have great attention to detail, able to efficiently multi-task
- Possess demonstrated experience interacting with high-level officials and clients
- Excellent and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexible and able to function equally well in a support role or in lead role when working with colleagues on projects
- Must be eligible for or currently possess a U.S. government security clearance
- Travel required for this position
Preferred, but not required:
- Virtual meeting application experience
- Government meeting planning experience
- Certified Government Meeting Professional or Certified Meeting Professional designations
Responsibilities:
As a part time Meeting Planner you will coordinate and assist in executing a variety of meetings and events each year, ranging in size from 10 – 1000 attendees. You will also assist as needed with conference facility support. You will:
- Meet with clients to determine meeting specifications
- Locate meeting facilities, and conduct site visits where necessary
- Negotiate contracts with hotels and conference facilities
- Calculate registration fees and monitor meeting budgets
- Coordinate with various security departments to clear non-US citizens attending meetings
- Create and design meeting websites using on-line software
- Coordinate logistics, menus, banquet event orders
- Reconcile meeting budgets
- Order office and conference supplies
- Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, scanning, mailing and filing
- Assist with set up and operations of our conference facility as needed
