Program Background:
Miocar is an electric vehicle carsharing program providing affordable hourly and daily vehicle rentals. The organization started operating in 2019 in the San Joaquin Valley. We are growing a fleet across Central Valley, California with our main office located in Stockton, CA. The website for the program is www.miocar.org

Car sharing is similar to car rental except that car share members reserve and pay for car share vehicles by the hour or day on-demand, through a smartphone app. Members access vehicles from a nearby “hub” in their neighborhood. To join, individuals download Miocar carsharing app from google or apple play stores, complete an application including a motor vehicle record check. Once approved, members can make same-day reservations for a car share vehicle from their phone, computer or by telephone. Members use their car to run errands, get to medical appointments, grocery shopping, visit relatives, get to a job interview, and more.

Position Background:
This position has two main areas of responsibilities - member services and fleet maintenance. The member services responsibilities include at times being the first person to pick up the phone and greet a new member, and maintaining outstanding customer service and a professional image in everything from the new member orientations, member account management, appearance of the fleet and follow-up on member concerns. The fleet maintenance responsibilities for this position include checking on the vehicle fleet, cleaning vehicles in between reservations, making sure vehicles are running properly, and taking vehicles in for repairs and fluid changes. Depending on the day, week and month, Fleet & Member Services tasks and priorities will change. This is mostly due to patterns in inquiries, applications, and usage.

This position requires travel to location(s) primarily in the San Joaquin Valley and more broadly the Central Valley including but not limited to sites in Kern, Tulare, San Joaquin and Contra Costa counties. The Fleet & Member Services Associate will be assisted in many of their job duties by both the Chief Operations Officer and Regional Fleet Manager.

Member Services responsibilities include, but not limited to:

● Membership services (phone, email and walk-in):

• Responding to emergencies (dead battery, hardware malfunction, etc)
• Monitoring fleet/reservations on our carsharing software system
• General inquiries: answering emails and phone calls
• Making, modifying, canceling reservations
• Urgent service matters (i.e. late member)
• Member questions and concerns (e.g. EV charging process, lost and found)
• Responding to emergencies
• Outgoing communication with members
• Processing Miocar new member applications, including running Motor Vehicle Driving
• Record (MVR) checks
• Availability to be on-call as needed

Fleet Services responsibilities include, but not limited to:

● Weekly checks of vehicles for cleanliness and safety of up to 18 vehicles
● Weekly interior/exterior cleaning of vehicles (every 7 days)
● Light mechanical duties (fluid replacement, fuses, batteries, wiper blades, etc.)
● Scheduling and delivering cars for tire rotations and otherwise scheduled maintenance
● Assist in annual inspection and biennial registration of each vehicle
● Taking vehicles in for repairs and bodywork as needed

● Checking municipal records for parking tickets
● Clearing designated Miocar parking spaces of debris and excess oils as needed, and reporting any issues with EVSE or designated Miocar parking spaces if noticed

● Remote monitoring of fleet
● Co-management of vehicle maintenance schedule and archives
● Assisting General Manager in following up on accidents and insurance claims.

Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have the following experience level and skill sets:

● Fluent in Spanish and English (technical Spanish is a plus but not required), in order to communicate with members and translate concepts around the technology and operational details of electric vehicles and carsharing;

● Comfortable traveling to various locations daily, potential of 150+ miles of work-related travel on a given day (a company vehicle will be available);

● Proficient in spreadsheets, word processing and presentation platforms
● Experience working on a small team in a fast-paced work environment.
● Interest and willingness around creative problem solving and trying new things.
