Provide assistance to the Program Supervisor, implement program curriculum, work with subcontractors to design and implement programs for teens.

Provide educational assistance to teens, plan and manage all program site activities for high risk youth.

Monitor program attendance and participation.

  • Work with the REACH Out Program Supervisor and Program Manager in the developing and implementing recruitment plan for youth program participants
  • Enroll clients into the program and conduct initial status assessments
  • Generate referrals to VCC and other agencies for services/resources and monitor follow-through, in collaboration with REACH Out Parent Coach
  • Encourage clients to attend program’s workshops and classes
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings with program team
  • Complete all monthly activity reports at the end of each month
  • Conduct pre and post evaluations such as entry questionnaires, and tracking youth’s missing assignments
  • Assist teens with their homework and other projects, with the goal of reducing the number of missing assignments
  • Assist Parent Coach in the recruitment efforts for parent workshops and youth participation
  • Inform parents and/or legal guardian of teen’s participation in program, of all program events and obtain written permission for teen participation
  • Enhance professional growth and development through continuing education, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
  • Provide weekly 1 on 1 mentoring support to youth participating in REACH Out (minimum of 5 youth assigned to Mentor)
  • Assist in connecting the school to parents and youth participants

Minimum

  • High school graduate, currently enrolled and attending college
  • Recent experience in assisting students in recreational, homework and other activities specifically designed for adolescents
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and/or reliable transportation to travel between sites for meetings with clients and partner agencies
  • Availability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours, as required

Preferred

  • Associates’ degree in related field plus four years’ case management experience or Bachelor's degree in related field with two years’ case management experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of local social service landscape

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Good verbal and written skills necessary for communication with clients and staff
  • Ability to present information effectively verbally and in writing to individuals and groups from various cultural, ethnic and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
  • Ability to work independently and under time constraints
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities; proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel

$18.00 - $21.00
