What you’ll be working on…
- Recording accurate meter reads on assigned routes while being friendly and courteous to customers in the field.
- Identifying and reporting illegal gas usage, damaged or broken equipment, public safety hazards and gas leaks as encountered in the field.
- Staying abreast of changes and updates to Itron software and AMR devices.
- Ensuring assigned Company vehicle is maintained according to Company policies. Also responsible for assigned handheld AMR device.
- Assisting Field Collections personnel with disconnects, collections and personal contacts as directed.
- Establishing a good working relationship with other Company departments.
- Assisting other Meter Readers and District personnel as needed.
- Maintaining knowledge of, promoting, supporting and participating in the Company’s employee recognition program.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Who you are...
- You have the ability to accurately read a natural gas meter and/or other measurement devices.
- You can demonstrate good math skills and good customer contact skills.
- You are in good physical condition for substantial standing and walking in all types of weather conditions.
- You have a normal level of visual and hearing ability.
- You possess a Valid driver’s license.
- You have a high school diploma.
- You have good computer skills.
- You are able to follow Company safety rules, regulations, procedures, policies and manuals.
- You can perform work tasks and activities in a safe and conscientious manner.
- You can recognize potentially dangerous situations with regard to flammable substance and possible gas leaks, illegal usage, theft, illegal piping, damaged equipment and tampering.
- You are able to response to emergency situations during regular work hours as well as afterhours.
Where you'll be working:
- Working in close proximity to traffic while reading meters.
- Working around potentially hazardous/flammable substances and dogs.
- Working outside, customer premises and in the office.
- Response to emergency situations during regular work hours as well as afterhours.

Experience
Preferred
