At United, we fly into airports around the entire world. And we need a whole team of people to keep things running in tip-top shape! From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading station finances for airport operations at IAD (Washington-Dulles International Airport). Primary responsibilities are to develop, guide, account for and analyze station financial performance; develop and track capital expenditures; ensure accurate financial controls; and to coordinate invoice and procurement processes, receivables processes, cash management processes, inventory processes and many other station specific procedures. Provides planning and administrative services to internal customers, including Hub Leadership Team and front-line employees. Leads and motivates a team of finance co-workers by providing work tools and training to improve their technical and operational skills. Develops, leverages and implements best practices processes and technology to improve service to internal customers and enhance productivity. This person will also lead all aspects of approximately. $0.2B annual budget.
- Financial and capital planning, accounting and analysis
- Development of annual operating plan and monthly financial reporting and forecasting
- Financial administration, including invoice processing, cash management, receivables processing and inventory monitoring and order processes
- Financial controls/audit

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Team leadership experience
- Financial accounting experience
- Financial or operating expense statement variance analysis experience
- Experience in building business cases (financial return on investment)
- Specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA/TSA/Airport Authority/US Customs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage frontline co-workers
- Ability to lead and sustain continuous improvement and process change
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with Anaplan
- At least two years of Airport Operations experience
- Proven leadership ability in large departmental environment
- Understanding of capital planning processes
- Understanding of invoice, receivables and cash management processes
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Quantitative field highly preferred
- Hyperion planning experience preferred
- 2-4 years FP&A experience
- Initiating action, building partnerships, cross-functional teamwork, finding solutions, planning and organizing, self-starter, strong inter-personal skills
