We are seeking a Mid-level Systems Engineer to support our DoD customer. The Mid-level Systems Engineer will support the continued incremental modernization of systems. Modernization will achieve a web-based user-facing capability and a server based back end that is capable of operating in a cloud-hosted environment and also supports a configuration which can be deployed as a local node by cognizant local staff to support operations under DDIL conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides customer support in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of computer systems programs, software, and operations to ensure that systems are functioning according to design specifications.
• Provides technical support and diagnoses and resolves system problems.
• Conducts research and analyzes technology information relative to tasking. Participates in the development of new systems or tailors commercial products to meet user requirements.
• Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
• Develops documentation to describe system requirements and use.
• Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.
• Manages software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques, and CASE tools.
• Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.

Required Skills:

• Active SECRET clearance
• 3-7 years of relevant IT engineering experience
• 3-7 years of experience utilizing and implementing DevSecOps pipeline tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins
• 3-7 years of experience using RedHat Enterprise Linux
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
• Ability to operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
• Ability to perform work that requires practical experience and training
• Ability to work well in a team setting

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience supporting DoD Command and Control Systems
Experience in one or more of the following areas:

Locally Deployed Capability

Data Analytics

Software development and sustainment

DevSecOps

• Experience using one or more of the following tools: PostgreSQL and Oracle a plus
• Knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
• Bachelor degree or higher in IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or other technical area
• Excellent oral and written communication
