Job description
Job Summary:This position’s duties include, but are not limited to, milling of raw chili as set forth by the mill report; batching off milled products; sampling completed batches; adjusting water/Ethox addition and blend times so that product meets target specifications.
Main Responsibilities:
Follows all Sensient policies and procedures.
Ability to learn and drive a Forklift.
Ensures that raw materials being milled are correct by matching the lot number with the lot number on the Milling Report.
Ensure that raw materials being milled fall within control limits set for surface color, moisture and agglomerates. Maximizes thru put to match or exceed standard established.
Samples the moisture of the product being milled every hour and plots on the Pre-Moisture Control Chart.
Samples each batch of milled product produced for surface color and plots on the Agtron charts. Makes adjustments in order to maintain the posted target.
Checks the percentage of fines produced on the milled product and plots on chart. Uses these results to determine if screens need to be cleaned, line speed changed or “Y” chute adjusted.
Replaces Williams Mill screen as needed.
Assist Sterilizer Lead on replacing Sifters Screens as needed.
Ensures that when screens are changes that all sliders are in place and that each screen has the proper amount of cleaning cubes.
Does not change screens without first getting consulting with Sterilizer Lead, followed by completing accountability form.
Installs new screen material on sifter screens as needed and according to procedure.
Washes all used sifter and mill screens promptly after the screens have been changed.
Assist Sterilizer lead on Mill/Sterilizer Sanitation when required.
Samples each batch of product according to procedure and takes samples to the lab for analysis.
Performs pre-op inspection of forklift on a daily basis, and whenever driving a different forklift.
Notifies Shift Supervisor of any leaks, or repairs in the milling area. Repairs leaks and minor repairs as directed by supervisor. Working knowledge of hand tools to perform tasks.
Checks the baghouse and the cyclone in the penthouse once per shift.
Fills drums to the weight listed on the mill reports and palletizes.
Maintains forms, logs and paperwork associated with the work area.
Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Gives direction to helpers in maintaining GMP guidelines and production targets.
Performs any other tasks required or assigned by the supervisor or member of management.
Education & Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and functional areas.
Ability to complete simple math (+, -, x, ÷) computations.
Ability to safely operate a forklift.
Ability to perform all department jobs and fill in for any position as needed.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:
Extreme temperatures ranging from 35 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noises, airborne food particles (dust) and forklift fumes, it is need to lift 50 – 100 lbs. on a frequent basis and safely roll drums up to 315 lbs.
The salary range for this position is $22.91 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, and labor markets.
