GENERAL SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, the Multi-Modality Technologist performs general radiologic procedures along with CT and/or DEXA procedures requiring advanced technical skills. Displays a high understanding of complicated requests from internal and external providers. Performs X-Ray, CT and/or DEXA procedures without constant supervision. Ability to work in many different areas providing coverage for Outpatients, Inpatients, Portables, Emergency Room, OR, and Fluoroscopy. Expected to perform at the highest potential of their license.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates imaging equipment while performing X-Ray, CT and/or DEXA procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Reviews medical record/referral order for patient history and pertinent clinical information.
- Transfers patient to imaging table, explains procedure and positions the patient according to protocol.
- Monitor patients' well-being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action. Uses proper position techniques.
- Guide patients through the sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding the exam process: pre-exam processing, performing the exam, and post-exam documentation.
- Keeps patient schedule and attempts to accommodate add-on patients when requested. Communicates delays or changes in the schedule to the appropriate person(s).
- Exercises sound judgment regarding image quality; determines when repeats are necessary.
- Uses ALARA concept to minimize patient radiation doses. Documents and reports any over-exposure and advises management immediately.
- Follows all safety procedures including appropriate use of PPE.
- Maintains cleanliness of all rooms, machines and cassettes in the department. Stocks room supplies as needed.
- Utilizes applicable aspects of the Radiology Information System.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Contributes to radiology Students learning, growth, and advancement by sharing knowledge through hands on learning, constructive feedback and mentoring.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances hospital and departmental reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures in addition to federal, state, and local requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Registered with the ARRT with advanced certification(s) in CT or Bone Density
- Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the State of New Hampshire
