Position Summary
The Music Counselor provides art specific counseling to adolescents, completes notes detailing therapy sessions, interprets and relates work to treatment plans, and assists in the education of youth through the expression of music. This individual provides a variety of direct counseling services using individual, family, and group methods and utilizes a full range of treatment and intervention skills and techniques with an emphasis on crisis intervention and family therapy.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Assesses clients and provides counseling services.
• Completes documentation and other reporting requirements on a timely basis.
• Contributes on Agency committees, and meets regularly with a supervisor.
• Formulates and implements treatment plans based on the preparation of diagnostic evaluations
• Evaluates client's progress and modifies counseling services accordingly.
• Maintains a high volume of work with efficiency
• Balances a wide range of cases
• Coordinates plans with home-schools.
• Leads a treatment team consisting of Senior and Residential Counseling, Education and consulting staff,
• Interprets the program to community groups.
• Represents the Agency in selected activities related to its goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Music
• 3 Years Experience working with Youth
• Current Driver's License with a Driving Record of at least Three Years
• Vehicle with Current Insurance and Registration
