Consolidated Networks Corporation (CNC) is hiring a Network Administrator. This position is at Ft. Polk, the U.S. Army Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) located very near Leesville, Louisiana. Candidate will perform primarily Network Administration duties supporting multiple domain environment systems and all supporting servers, networks, desktops in a complex fast paced 24 x 7 DoD Army computing environment.

The candidate will be responsible for working with and taking direction from the Sr. Network Administrator in the design, planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the JRTC’s IS network infrastructure and architecture.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret security Clearance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain Fort Irwin driving privileges.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if required.
  • This position may require shift work during Army training rotational periods. Shift assignments will vary.
  • During rotations, may be called out and required to assist outside of normal working hours.
  • Must be able to tolerate work in the extreme Louisiana heat and work in various environmental conditions and terrains.
  • Must be able to travel to training areas (on post or just outside of Ft. Polk) by 4x4 vehicles, and tactical vehicles.
  • Must be able to communicate via two-way radio.

Required Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification or other IAT Level II certification required to start.
  • Must obtain CCST or CCNA within six (6) months of start date.

Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in network administration.
  • Experience as a CISCO Network Administrator.
  • Experience using SolarWinds.
  • Experience using DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the networking field.
  • Ability to quickly analyze operational issues with complex system operations and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret non-technical communications to serve customers with skill and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with coworkers and function in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain network components to include switches, routers, wireless, VPN, firewall devices and TACLANES.
  • Conduct appropriate routine tests to ensure the proper working condition and security of the JRTC IS network.
  • Coordinate and schedule installation of new network equipment or relocation of equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure the JRTC IS phone system with up-to-date technical and practical knowledge and understanding of system testing, analysis and best practices.
  • Monitor network performance and resources proactively.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose network issues utilizing network tools.
  • Act as an escalation point for other support teams and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Support the JRTC IS.
  • Assist PDSS with the upgrade of systems, installation of new systems, and new software releases.
  • Support the SOC in maintaining STIG and IAVA compliance.
  • And other duties as assigned.
