While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Additional Working Conditions
The employee is occasionally required to climb a ladder, and to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Strong background with wireless services and wireless architecture.
Knowledge of HTTP, network protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP along with packet analysis.
Knowledge of data center and EIA/TIA cabling standards, copper, and fiber optic cabling/interfaces
Experience in implementing and managing voice over IP (VoIP) systems desired.
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Prior hands-on professional experience must include firewalls, routers, switches, Network Access Control, IP Cameras, wireless controllers and access points.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities
Configures university LANs and wireless networks, including edge switches, wireless access points, UPS’s and other network hardware.

Troubleshoots and resolves network issues down to the device level.

Develops and maintains documentation on campus networks using software such as Intermapper, Statseeker and Aruba Airwave.

Monitors and test performance on campus networks. Provides network statistics and reports upon request.

Duties & Responsibilities
Installs and replaces network switches, UPS’s and access points. Applies software upgrades and security patches on edge switches and wireless network.

Duties & Responsibilities
Works with Network Services team members to research and evaluate network hardware and software. Provides cost estimates on projects which could include new building networks, network and equipment upgrades.
