Job Description


The IT Ops, Engineering & Support department or "IT" for short is responsible for possessing a detailed understanding of operations, architectural design and infrastructure and communicating the benefits of digitization of business to our function leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage small short term teams of Engineers and technicians in order to achieve project or operational goals.
  • Manage Engineering driven programs.
  • Works with NOC and operational teams to resolve any outage or project as required.
  • Helps build the knowledge base of the overall team.
  • Troubleshoot system problems, create and maintain scripts.
  • Design, plan, budget, and manage successful technology implementations.
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure to support common services: file, print, application, database, web, fax, email.
  • Deploy and maintain network-centric services – DNS, DHCP
  • Support and refine an international enterprise messaging system.
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure to support business critical line-of-business applications.
  • Prepare documentation and provide project management on systems projects.
  • Assist in the development and communication of standard operating procedures.
  • Enforce enterprise computing services infrastructure standards.
  • Lead efforts to develop appropriate support models surrounding servers, storage, and networking equipment.
  • Participate in development of enterprise security infrastructure including physical, operating system, and application level security domains.
  • Assist in the design and development of secure physical facilities such as technology centers and telecommunication rooms.
  • Develop and use methods to quickly build remote offices and relocate technical resources.
  • Assist Network Engineering with the build and support of the LAN and WAN environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN.
  • Support wireless LAN.
  • Assist workstation support resources with the development of a comprehensive desktop deployment, management, and support methodology.
  • Train help desk, technician, and junior systems engineering staff in troubleshooting, support, and escalation practices.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the support team.
  • Work with project managers to develop appropriate vendor contract verbiage, service levels, equipment specifications, and project timelines.
  • Manage external hosting and application resources.
  • Perform vendor product technical reviews; compare competing vendor products; develop recommendations for selected products.
  • Assist in vendor contract negotiations.
  • Recommend enhancements regarding product, application or documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on systems engineering recommendations.
  • Work on multiple projects and objectives simultaneously in a 7x24x365 environment.
  • Participate in the on-call schedule to provide 24-hour support.
  • Perform network engineering functions within a framework of standards striving to increase systems effectiveness, uptime, and risk avoidance.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of network communication protocols (TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable and fault-tolerant service infrastructure within a large client server (WIN2K) environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows NT/2000/2003/XP/7/10, Anti Virus Software, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio
  • Experience troubleshooting applications traversing firewalls
  • Experience with various network architectures and products.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with workstation management software such as Altiris a plus.
  • Experience administering a wireless LAN environment a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
