Job Purpose:

We’re looking for a Network Support Lead to take the lead on running our massive multi-site network (60 or so sites at present), acting as the primary liaison between the Service Management team and the third-party supplier who provides us with our connectivity to the cloud and our internal systems.

The role is not a 100% technical role as the majority of the hands-on admin will be done by the third-party supplier, but we do need someone with technical experience in order to triage issues, assess resolution work and change requests from the supplier, and provide technical guidance and advice to the Service Management team in conjunction with the Architecture team.

The role will be responsible for making sure our network rooms on the various CPS sites are compliant and secure, and work with the third-party supplier to define and execute a maintenance plan to keep the hardware therein up to date.

As a Network Support Lead,your main responsibilities would be to:

• Drive a proactive approach from suppliers and advise on enhancements to monitoring as issues, gaps or new services are seen.
• Engage with users directly to both improve service and respond to any issues on the ground.
• Act as overall Service Management lead for all matters of a technical nature relating to the Network, supporting Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Manager to support the business wherever possible. This will include supporting the business to ensure that there is an adequate network-based business continuity plans in place and quality reviewing the BC/DR plans to ensure they are technically robust.
• Oversee the operation of the network infrastructure provided by external suppliers, acting on behalf of service management, delivering the responsibilities of service integration, and ensuring that service levels are maintained by the suppliers.
• Act as a focal point for all day-to-day network operations, working closely with the rest of the Service Management team and digital colleagues, in particular the Architecture team.
• Plan and execute a maintenance schedule to ensure that network components are up-to-date, and the Infrastructure is maintained.

• Experience administering networks, ideally multi-site.
• Experience dealing with third party contractors and support.
• Experience planning and executing a regular maintenance cycle for network equipment.
• Security Clearance (or eligibility to undergo this Clearance)
