GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Performs electroneurodiagnostic testing specific to neurodiagnostic department; maintains working relationships with internal/external customers to ensure accurate and timely procedures and reports.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NCV testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policy/procedures. (65%)
- Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions. (10%)
- Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental records according to departmental policy/procedures. (10%)
- Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices. (10%)
- Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Graduate of an EEG Technologist Certificate Program and/or minimum of six months’ experience in EEG techniques.
- EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.
