Job Duties

Sign on bonus of up to $10,000 and loan repayment!

Must be new to state service in order to receive sign on bonus. Must meet all eligibility requirements to receive loan repayment.

Current need is for Nocturnist: Psychiatrist, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine. The position will perform required admission assessments and respond to acute medical/psychiatric needs of all inpatients. In addition, this position will provide clinical and administrative support to the Medical Director as needed. All WSH Staff are considered Essential especially during Emergent or Pandemic Circumstances. Comprehensive knowledge of general psychiatry with a focus on inpatient treatment methodologies, especially for patients with chronic mental illnesses. Strong clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing and managing psychiatric admissions. Must have interpersonal, administrative, and leadership skills to work with interdisciplinary staff at all levels in coordinating admissions, managing census, monitoring on duty providers, assisting with Medical Staff and hospital activities

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a current Virginia medical license. BLS certification and WSH DEA required prior to start of work assignment. Completion of residency training in Postgraduate Medical Education. Strong clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing and managing psychiatric admissions is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with knowledge of general psychiatry with a focus on inpatient treatment methodologies, especially for patients with chronic mental illnesses is preferred. Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred.
