Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Technician
Provide transportation for patients/clients to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, medical offices and their private residences on time in a safe, secure and professional manner and in Accordance with (IAW) established Policies and Procedures and training protocols.
Essential duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Transport patients and clients utilizing company vehicles on time in a safe and professional manner.
- Effectively communicate with dispatch regarding scheduled transports, all status updates and able to receive additional instructions.
- Effectively participate in professional, stimulating and pleasant dialogue with patients, their family members and our clients.
- Maintain a professional public image and attitude in regard to clients, visitors and co‐workers at all times.
- Complete daily vehicle pre‐trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Assist clients and patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.
- Must understand instructions in English (both written and spoken).
- Must be able to accurately complete activity logs vehicle reports.
- Must be able to understand and operate GPS devices, 2-way radios, and cell phones.
- Comfortable using computers or tablets to document patient transports.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Enthusiastic and customer service focused.
- Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Available during some holidays and weekends.
- Must be able to do considerable kneeling, bending, and heavy lifting up to 65lbs.
- Able to push a patient in a wheelchair up to 500lbs.
- Autonomy and initiative is required while doing transports, especially when dealing with patients or family members.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Working with clients and patients
- Quick learner
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Strong customer service experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- EMT – State certified/Nationally Registered
Or
- Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Certification
Or
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – State certified OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
