Job description
The role involves working on a busy ophthalmic unit, caring for surgical ophthalmic patients, emergency casualty service, laser outpatient clinics and pre-assessment.

The Eye ward is a busy, friendly unit which is in the process of expanding to 7 day a week working.

We are committed to providing the best Eye care for the people of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

Main duties are
1. Admission and discharge of ophthalmic surgical patients. - Physiological observations, Visual acuity, Icare measurement.
2. Advise patients on health promotion.
3. Provide and monitor care.
4. To participate in the admission and Discharge of ophthalmic patients
5. Assist in developing an environment that supports the value of nursing care.
6. Carry out clinical duties in accordance with NMC role requirements National, Trust and local standards and policies.
7. Advise patients/clients of the promotion of health and prevention of illness
