Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC 20016

Schedule: Night Shift

The Nurse Extern cohort will begin June 12, 2023 and will run for eight weeks. You will work 36-40 hours per week.

As a Student Nurse Extern , you will perform a variety of patient care tasks under the delegation of an RN.

Monitors and records vital signs, weights, I and O and pulse oximetry and reports changes to RN.
Problem solves with patient's family and all care givers to provide the most effective and compassionate care.
Reviews charts for order clarification.
Documents care provided according to established guidelines.

Requirements:
Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
Has successfully completed at least one semester of Med/Surg and is a rising senior.
Basic Life Support Certification required.
The summer externship begins June 12, 2023. Must attend mandatory Hospital orientation June 12th - June 16th.
