As an Online Content Producer, you will combine technical ability and creative flare with a passion for online learning. You will build high quality learning assets to inspire students at a distance and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our offering. Principal accountabilities
- To develop and design leading edge learning products which utilise the relevant University guidelines and provide a consistent user experience for students/clients.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to formulate products, providing technical expertise to influence project direction.
- To support with the deployment of new products and technologies developed by the team and ensuring effective handover into the Department.
- To maintain up-to-date and forward-thinking knowledge in relation to technology and software developments.
- Work with clients/academics and interpret their feedback and requests to create online learning that exceeds their expectations.
- To provide an innovative approach, and devise innovative solutions, to the needs of the business and academic strategies.
- To develop and code learning objects, ensuring developments/products are visually engaging assets by producing and sourcing high quality images and graphics.
- Create high quality and visually appealing interactions, animations and other types of rich multimedia assets using HTML and Adobe Creative Cloud apps.
- Work closely with the Content Team, producers, developers and learning designers to ensure a quality deliverable.
- To understand and interpret the University’s core systems in order to enable effective and innovative development and delivery.
- To understand and implement User Experience Design (UXD) principles and methodologies in order to deliver an effective student journey.
- To implement an effective test-benching process to ensure the robustness of the products and technologies developed by the team and the communication of any restrictions.
- To manage development activities in accordance with identified parameters (timescales, costs, quality tolerance, etc).
- To develop and maintain a working knowledge of University systems to ensure solutions can be embedded within standard processes.
- To maintain a working knowledge of usability and accessibility within learning content so to ensure effectiveness for a diverse body of students and staff.
- To participate in awareness raising activities in order to develop the reputation of the University as a leading provider of online / technology-based learning.
- To implement industry wide regulations and standards in relation to developments.
- To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by line management to forward the strategy of the University.

Qualifications
- Relevant degree or experience of developing and designing new products or solutions
Experience
- Significant knowledge and experience of web development languages and techniques; HTML, XML, XHTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, CSS
- Experience in relevant content development and design packages
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- Knowledge of virtual learning environments (Blackboard/Moodle/etc)
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand the business, academic and student needs of the project
- Patient, flexible, and diplomatic approach with an ability to work towards tight deadlines
- Excellent communicator, able to work with people with varying levels of content development, publication and web knowledge and experience
- Highly capable team player who can contribute to the wider success of the team
- Assertive, inspiring, perceptive, insightful
- Creative and ability to develop their own new ideas and innovative solutions to problems
