• xperience as an OpenVMS System Administrator
• Must demonstrate strong system administration skills in an OpenVMS environment.
• Proven and demonstrated ability to create and use tools to perform OpenVMS system management functions.
• Strong familiarity with DCL programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to visualize problems and develop effective solutions for complex issues.
• Expertise in Native VMS Backups and ABC Backups to TSM Servers.
• Expertise on OpenVMS hardware such as HP Blade BL860ci2,Alpha GS120
• Hands-on experience using Blade Consoles via MP and Alpha Consoles using COM ports.
• Demonstrated experience on Oracle Rdb V7.2-420 on OpenVMS
• Configuration and maintenance of VMS Clusters and TCPIP Protocols
• Hardware Troubleshooting such as faulty memory replacements and CPU replacements
• Installing Patches and licenses as per application and OS requirements.
• Responsible for system management tasks like Disk Space Utilization, File-System Management, Performance Management
• Demonstrated experience on TCP/IP and Decnet configuration
• Optimizing existing LAN / WAN network infrastructure
• User management and Queue Management: Creating and configuring user accounts and queues based on the work profile
• Perform Quarterly DRP activities with the cross-site servers to maintain high-availability for mission critical applications.
• Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
• Manage mixed VMS Alpha and Vax Clusters versions V8.4 / V7.3 - Supporting VMS servers and workstations.
• Appropriate level software installations/upgrades and related software packages, reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes.
• Perform DBA tasks as and when required.
• Responsible for monitoring daily database activities and overall performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the database.
• Interact with development and business resources to determine application data access requirements.
• Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
