CLYNK is a provider of modern, high-speed, large-scale beverage container redemption services in Maine and New York, in addition to being a provider of container redemption technology in other Bottle Bill states. We are considered a “rare breed,” as one of the few recycling industry participants that is taking a progressive, tech-savvy, visionary approach to protecting the planet. CLYNK Redemption exists to make recycling easier, more convenient and more rewarding for consumers and retailers.
We are growing our Maine business at a rapid pace. We service 53 Hannaford locations in Maine, from York to Bar Harbor, picking up bags of customers' redeemable bottles and transporting them to our warehouses in Oakland, South Portland, and Biddeford for processing to return the customers' deposits. Summary/Objective
The Operations Supervisor is critical to our success and plays a key role in the safety, productivity, and process-driven systems across all of our Maine-based operations which includes 2 plants in Biddeford and 1 plant in Oakland. On occasion the Supervisor will cover transportation or fill in for another Supervisor.
Essential Functions
The Supervisor has responsibility for all activities within our respective warehouses:
· Staffing, training and people management
· Ensuring accurate and efficient customer bag handling
· Meeting productivity goals, including keeping up with a variable inbound stream from stores
· Instructing maintenance to ensure the machines are in good condition and running properly
· Overseeing baling and the appropriate resale/loading of recyclable materials
· Interacting with vendors, beverage manufacturers, distributors and their pick-up agents
· Disciplinary actions when necessary
· Maintaining safety practices

Competencies/Preferred Skills
· Bilingual preferred (English/French, English/Portuguese or English/Lingala)
· Comfort using technology -- computer, Microsoft Office Suite -- and willing to be trained on in-house reporting tools.
· Knowledge of standard workplace safety procedures
· Solid mechanical skills with comfort in troubleshooting
· Experience with one or more of the pieces of equipment typically found in MRF (material sorting, baling, etc.)
· Prior leadership/people management experience with the ability to command the respect and trust of the staff and to redirect behavior as necessary
· Strong ability to motivate people at a team- and individual-level and to be a team player
· Experience managing a staff of mixed levels and experience, oversight of at least 20 people.
· Attention to detail and innovation – you care that things are done right, you learn quickly and adapt easily to change
· Strong communication skills, able to understand and represent the needs of the company and of the team.
· Willing and able to fill-in as needed (may be baling, forklift, back-up driver. We will train)
· Valid Maine Driver’s License and be at least 21 years of age
· Must meet the CLYNK Driver Policy Requirements
· Able to lift 60 lbs and work on the production floor
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities, primarily with processing and occasionally with transportation.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an operational plant.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Because CLYNK operates 7 days per week, this position requires some weekend/evening availability.
