Southwire Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: Direct and coordinate all work activities as specified for assigned during his/her shift. Principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Support the Value Stream Manager, Operations Manager, Plant Manager, and company in meeting established goals and objectives in regard to scrap control, budgets, production requirements, morale, and housekeeping. Follow and support all company policy. Oversee and insure proper training and development of people on assigned shifts. Make sure all necessary supplies and tools are provided for each operation. Coordinate products to be run per established production schedule and notify Value Stream and/or Materials Manager of any schedule related problems. Assist team members as necessary to reduce downtime/scrap and increase production. Notify maintenance on duty of any breakdowns or maintenance needs during the shift. Initiate maintenance work order requests for all maintenance needs that cannot be resolved within one shift. Promote Lean program by encouraging suggestions and participation. Ensure correct tagging of all material produced during his/her shift. . Support and participate in the ISO program. Insure that all applicable procedures are followed by all direct reporting team members. Make sure that all applicable or assigned ISO procedures are maintained and up to date. Responsible for the quality of all products produced. Support the Lean Manager and the Quality Policy. Investigate and resolve quality related issues in a timely manner. Provide root cause and corrective action information for CANs and quality problems. Memorize the Quality Policy. Issue discipline in accordance with Southwire Policy. . EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous leadership experience is preferred. Normally requires 3-5 years of experience in applicable field.
