Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Engineer will support DKL Operations when troubleshooting operational issues across DKL’s facilities, optimize the operation of existing facilities to improve reliability, and provide input to the development of projects for new Greenfield assets and major brownfield facility upgrades and expansions associated with the Company’s hazardous liquids midstream pipelines, terminals, facilities, trucking stations, loading racks, and gas processing facilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stay informed and understand the regulatory process in Texas and New Mexico to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety and for the safety of the company assets, employees, and the public.
  • Ensure successful execution of oil, gas, and water projects including facilities, pipelines, and plant modifications
  • Prepare and/or review deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, datasheets, design calculations.
  • Apply professional design codes and recommended practices (API, ASME, etc.) and assist in the development of company engineering standards, specifications, and policies & procedures required to support operational issues
  • Work closely with field personnel and multiple vendors to troubleshoot, optimize operations, plan system/equipment maintenance, etc. while maintaining project schedules and budget.
  • Work closely with Development Engineers in the Improve (Project) Engineering group to ensure that current system status is considered when developing growth and debottlenecking projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Education

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in midstream pipeline and/or gas processing, refining, petrochemical, or upstream oil & gas experience required.
  • Must have recent oil and gas processing experience with knowledge of pipeline design and hydraulics or other.
  • College graduate from a four-year program with Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in project planning and program management, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience executing several small to medium sized projects running concurrently
  • Deep knowledge of API and industry standards and best practices
  • Working knowledge of PHMSA regulations, DOT 195, TX Railroad Commission, BLM, ASME B31.3/31.4/31.8 design codes, and API Recommended Practices
  • Must be willing to travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, projects, planning, and information gathering
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to submit to DOT random drug and alcohol screening


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in an ABET-Engineering program
  • Mechanical Engineer preferred.
  • 8+ years’ broad industry experience.
  • Experience with AVEVA PI and MS Power BI a plus
  • A Professional Engineering Licensure is desirable
